Sanctuary for all

Mill Hill Chapel, a member of the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches, has a long and fine tradition. It is Unitarian, founded on a belief in the oneness of a living God, but no fixed creeds are imposed. Members are free to form their own beliefs, and with minds open to modern knowledge they seek the truth in a spirit of honest enquiry. Thus they come in fellowship to unity in worship and find inspiration of their daily lives.

A liberal tradition

Tolerance, understanding and friendship are extended to those of other religious communities or none, and we are happy to share with them the fruits of our liberal tradition. In this church, we cherish a faith that has a good purpose for mankind and we believe it is a privilege to share in that purpose by doing what we can to help others. This faith is not a system of dogmas, but striving for a right attitude to life, a rational warm, and progressive faith.

It requires resolution to venture out from the cosy warmth of ancient creeds, but the keen air of honest enquiry can be invigorating and the discovery may be made that reality is more wonderful than myth.
